In the academic year 2015/16 St. Petersburg University together with Euler Foundation holds the united international mathematical olympiad «Formula of Unity» / «The Third Millenium».
Schoolchildren of grades 5–11 from Russia and of equivalent grades from all over the world are invited to participate. Participation in the competition is free. Winners are invited to the International Summer Camp of «Formula of Unity».
International Mathematical Olympiad «Formula of Unity» / «The Third Millennium» continues two earlier independent Olympiads: «Formula of Unity» that took place in 2012/2013 and «The Third Millennium» that has been conducted since 2001. The united Olympiad organized by St. Petersburg State University and Euler Foundation was first held in 2013/14 academic year. In the year 2014/15 it gathered more than 6,000 students from 15 countries.
The Olympiad is over!
The awarding ceremony took place on June 18, 2016 at St. Petersburg University.
This year, the qualifying round gathered almost 4,000 students from 16 countries (including Russia), of which more than a thousand passed to the final round. More than 250 children were awarded with diplomas of different degrees for successful participation.

The round will be held in a number of places on various dates between February 20 and 28 (see the file below). The round will last for 4 hours.
Participants of the 2nd round include the winners of the first round as well as all those who received diplomas for winning in the Olympiad 2013/14 (not including those with honorable mentions and diplomas for the 2nd round).

It is necessary to bring your pens and paper with you. The participants are not allowed to use calculators, computers, telephones, any other communication tools.

Results of the first round
January 22, 2016
The jury has completed evaluation of the solutions of the 1st round. The maximal score for each problem was 7 points. To pass to the 2nd round, it was sufficient to receive 27 points for the grade R10 and 32 points for all other grades.

The second round will be held on February 21, 2016 simultaneously in various sites (in some countries the date differs). The list of the sites will be published later. Besides of the winners of the 1st round, the winners (awarded with diplomas) of the 2014/15 Olympiad are invited to participate in the 2nd round.

Please remember that your solution of every problem should include full reasoning, and not only the right answer.
We will be happy if your friends who like mathematics also participate. However, every work should be done personally; otherwise, your paper will not be considered.
Please be careful with making up of your work, follow the rules and declare all necessary data. You need not include statements of problems into your paper; please write down your solutions only.
You can write your solutions by hand and scan them or type them using a text editor. Solutions should be written in Esperanto, English, French, German, Georgian, Hebrew, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Ukrainian, or Vietnamese; use of other languages should be agreed with the organizers in advance. Your work should be submitted not later than on November 12, 2015. For anonymous grading, you should not write down your name on the paper sheets with solutions.
How to submit solutions
There are two ways to do it: «official» and «unofficial».
1. Official participation
With this option you can result in receiving a Diploma of the United Olympiad approved by the Russian Council of School Olympiads.
You should register on the web site of the Olympiad of St. Petersburg University olymp.spbu.ru and upload your solutions via your personal cabinet.

2. Unofficial participation
With this option you qualify as a participant of the 16th Olympiad «The Third Millennium» and not as a participant of the United Olympiad.
